Our Impact

We are helping people,
help people

Through our initiatives, the BRAIV Foundation not only addresses immediate needs but also invests in the future of treatment and care for brain cancer and TBI. Our impact is measured not just in the financial support provided but in the lives touched, the research advanced, and the communities strengthened. We are deeply grateful to our donors, volunteers, and partners who join us in this mission, and we remain committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact.

At the BRAIV Foundation, we believe in the power of direct action and targeted support to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals battling brain cancer and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

Through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our team, we’ve been able to launch and sustain several key initiatives that not only provide immediate relief but also contribute to long-term research and solutions.

The difference we make

Kristi Bishop Travel Grant

Understanding the challenges faced by patients needing to travel for treatment, the Kristi Bishop Travel Grant offers a lifeline. BRAIV partners with physicians to provide grants to patients to help cover the expenses associated with traveling to receive life changing treatment (e.g., gas, hotels, meals, etc.). This support is crucial, as many brain cancer treatments and clinical trials are located in specialized centers that may not be available locally, requiring patients to travel long distances, sometimes across states, for extended periods.

The necessity for such travel is underscored by the specialized nature of brain cancer treatment, which often involves cutting-edge therapies and clinical trials concentrated in major medical centers. By alleviating the financial burden of travel, we ensure that receiving the best possible care is not an added stressor for patients and their families.

Improving Lives Through Funding Research

In our quest to contribute to groundbreaking research, BRAIV Foundation provides targeted support to promising projects with the potential to revolutionize treatment approaches. A recent example of this is our donation to the Animal Cancer Care and Research Program at the University of Minnesota. Our contribution was earmarked for the purchase of essential equipment, aiding in research that not only benefits dogs with brain cancer but also holds promise for future human clinical trials. This approach allows us to be part of pioneering efforts that bridge the gap between veterinary and human medicine, contributing to advances that could one day change the landscape of brain cancer treatment.

Sponsorship of Healing Experiences

Recognizing the importance of mental and emotional well-being for those affected by brain cancer and TBI, we also invest in experiences that offer solace and peace. Our collaboration with a lodge in northern Minnesota to fund the renovation of cabins for active military members and veterans suffering from TBI is a testament to this commitment. These serene retreats offer a much-needed respite from the challenges of recovery and treatment, providing a space for healing beyond the physical.
